FLOW/Presso Therapy is a medical treatment that promotes lymphatic drainage. By alternating between compression and decompression, it effectively stimulates the lymphatic system. This is an advanced air pressure lymphatic drainage machine, and it’s development came from the design of pneumatic pumps. The advancement to such technology is through the consideration of the lymphatic system as a whole system, providing a complete body therapy.
It consists of individual air pressure pieces, that are applied to separate parts of the body, which are designed to remove excess fluids in the tissue without damaging the circulation and lymphatic pathways. Within the air pressure pieces are individual chambers that are inflated sequentially so that each one inflates before its predecessor has been completely deflated. Allowing the fluid to be moved upwards without any breaks consequently avoiding flowback. The velcro fastening of each piece ensures perfect adherence, providing the ability to adjust to difference sizes and shapes.
This unit offers the ability for the doctor to control the duration of the pressure of each individual chamber to suit an individual’s need based on their condition or localized tissue swelling. State of the art software is provided to offer therapy protocols and a data collection site to monitor change. The option to deliver far infrared heating is also available to each individual piece. Studies demonstrate that far infrared helps enhance circulation in the skin, modulate sleep, ease pain, protect against oxidative stress, and relieve inflammation.
FLOW/Presso therapy acts by applying a compressive force as close as possible to the lymphatic physiological pressure, as well as how the muscle pumps inside the body. This aids the return of blood from the extremities towards the heart, along with the removal of the stagnating fluids from the tissue. FLOW/Presso therapy can also be considered in the management of muscle tightness or fascia restriction by applying a deeper pressure and far infrared heat to the individual pieces.
